FINANCIAL PROTECTION

Total Payment Protection (topp) Policy cover:
In compliance with the UK Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 an insurance policy has been arranged with Travel & General Insurance Company plc to protect customers’ prepayments paid in respect of non-flight inclusive packages commencing and returning to the UK, offered in this brochure/literature/document/on this website (subject to the terms of the insurance policy), for:

  • a refund of such prepayments if customers have not yet travelled, or
  • making arrangements to enable the holiday to continue if customers have already travelled, or
  • repatriation of customers to the UK in the unlikely event of our financial failure.”

BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS

All bookings can be made online www.europeanmotorbiketours.uk.com or via the telephone 0845 224 1039 on a first-come first-served basis. Prices are correct at the time of printing, however circumstances beyond our control, eg; Government action, taxes and currency fluctuations, may cause an increase. If such cases arise we reserve the right to pass on the surcharges.

A non-refundable deposit of £120 per person is required to book a place.

The Balance is due eight weeks before the departure date, Balance payments made by credit card are subject to a handling fee, or they can be made by cheque.

You will receive an EMT booking confirmation, EMT terms and conditions, the payment schedule for the tour and an invoice. Failure to send payment may result in cancellation of your booking and/or additional cost.

Bookings made within eight weeks of the departure date will only be accepted with full payment. Failure to meet payment requirements may result in cancellation and/or add cost.

CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS

EMT reserves the right to cancel a tour. In such cases an applicant will be offered an alternative tour or a refund of all monies paid. Notification will be given at as soon as possible prior to departure.

CANCELLATION CHARGES

If a client cancels an EMT tour the following charges will be levied:

Eight to Six weeks - 50 per cent of total tour cost

Less than Six weeks- 100 per cent of total tour cost.

EXTRAS

A safety deposit is required for all hired items. When the hired items are returned, and deemed not to have been damaged in any way, intentionally or accidentally, the deposit will be refunded. Any damage inflicted upon a hired item, intentional or accidental, the hirer will be liable for any costs incurred by EMT Ltd. Deposits can be made by cheque and held in EMT Ltd’s current bank accounts, until such items are returned undamaged. Upon receipt of the items EMT Ltd will make payable to the hirer a cheque for the deposit amount, less damages. When paying the deposit you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

TOUR CHANGES

EMT bookings are made in advance of your departure date, however, a tour itinerary might become subject to slight changes right up to the departure date. These changes may only be minor and EMT will notify everyone as soon as humanly possible. However, if significant alterations are required, e.g., changes to date or point of departure, ultimate destination and location/quality of the main hotel, or a major change to the tour itinerary which reduces the quality of the tour, participants are free to continue with the tour with the revised itinerary or accept an offer of an alternative tour of equal or greater value. Alternatively, bookings may be cancelled in return for a full refund.

In the event of a significant change that results in a cancellation EMT will, in addition to a refund, offer compensation as stated for the period before departure within which a significant change is notified.

Compensation per person:

  • More than 31 days £0
  • Less than 31 days £15
  • Less than seven days £20.

TRANSFER OF BOOKING

If a person, for any reason, is unable to travel he/she may transfer the booking to another named person. In such cases at least two weeks’ notice should be given and the changes will be subject to an administration fee of £50, please note this must be received in writing and confirmed two weeks prior to departure.

DELAYS

EMT Ltd cannot be held responsible for unforeseen delays to a journey or ferry crossing (to or from the UK). In the event of a delay clients will be responsible for providing their own meals, travel and accommodation.

FORCE MAJEURE

Means unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond normal control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised. Such circumstances or events include (but are not limited to) war, or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion of airports, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire and adverse weather conditions. In the event of any of the above refunds or compensation payments cannot be made.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS

Clients require a valid UK passport for visiting EC countries. If the rider or passenger has any other passport, a visa may be required and they should contact the appropriate office before travelling.

When holding a non-UK passport, please call EMT who will advise of any visa requirements for non-EC tours.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Each eligible client should carry an E111 form, available from the Post Office, to enable a percentage of medical fees incurred in EC countries to be reclaimed, along with your own travel insurance.

INSURANCE

Clients must arrange insurance to cover 24-hour emergency, accident and breakdown recovery for the motorcycle and adequate personal and medical insurance to cover repatriation in the event of accident/illness.

EMT RESPONSIBILITY

EMT are responsible for ensuring that any part of the tour programme booked, where it is within their control, is supplied as described in the tour brochure. However, please be aware that during the holiday some amenities, e.g., hotel lifts, swimming pools etc, require regular servicing and cleaning and therefore may be inaccessible at times. Also the organisers cannot be responsible for some amenities being affected by weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns.

EMT makes every effort to ensure that the correct arrangements have been made for all the tours in the brochure and that the suppliers of the services that go to making a holiday enjoyable are efficient and reputable.

The organisers cannot be held responsible for death, personal injury or illness caused by activities engaged in which are outside the tour itinerary.

CLIENTS RESPONSIBILITY

Clients are required to ensure that their motorcycles are in a good road legal condition, have valid insurance and MOT cover, if required.

Clients are responsible for their own motorcycle, its use and conformity to local laws and regulations. They are also responsible for any pillion passenger being carried.

An accident that occurs to a rider, or pillion passenger, will never be the responsibility of EMT Ltd.

Should a motorcycle suffer a mechanical failure, or accidental damage, it is the responsibility of the owner.

If for any reason a Clients decides to leave a tour during its duration he or she will not be recompensed.

COMPLAINTS

Should a participant feel that EMT have not met obligations it should first be brought to the attention of the accompanying tour representative or on self guide the address below. If however, the client is not completely satisfied any comments should be put in writing, within two weeks of return, quoting the tour identity and dates to:
